Men and boys - no shorts or tank tops (carry a pair of sweat pants or the like in the car to use when needed).

CONFRATERNITY OF MARY IMMACULATE QUEEN – – The monthly meeting will take place this Saturday, April 11, after the 8 a.m. Mass, in Room 226.

*SECOND COLLECTION TODAY – In case you wish, today you may make a contribution in the second collection as a Lenten alms. Donations will be passed on to needy members of our parish, local charities, and select national charities

*AUCTION UPDATE—Many auction volunteers are needed - please call Ronette at 993-6255. Be sure to turn in your reservations to Ronette and turn raffle tickets in to Mr. Drahman. You can purchase dinner tickets and raffle tickets after all the Masses next Sunday, April 12th. School families, keep selling your raffle tickets and get the money turned in ASAP.

*EASTER DUTY – All Catholics are obliged under pain of mortal sin to receive Holy Communion worthily at least once during Easter time. Ideally, this takes place between Palm Sunday and Low Sunday, a two-week span. In the United States, however, concession was made so that the Easter Duty could be fulfilled any time between the 1st Sunday of Lent (February 22nd) and Trinity Sunday (May 31st).

ST. ISIDORE’S COMMUNITY GARDEN - We are already taking steps and have started planting this year's Community Garden. Each year we learn more and more and try different things. This year we are going to try and grow more herbs. So far, not many people have signed up or inquired about shares in the garden. Remember that you'll be receiving fresh produce without any chemicals and helping support the garden. If you have already signed up, thank you. If you haven't yet, please consider investing in the garden. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. To make payments or purchase your share(s), please contact Mr. Tim Drahman. Reminder...weather permitting, on April 19th we will have a BBQ near the community garden. This will allow people to get together and mingle, see the garden before it gets fully started, and allow for any questions to be answered. Some people haven't seen the garden or don't realize just how much work there is in producing the fresh produce they receive. Hope to see you all there, Don Pulliam 509-326-6897.

THANK YOU – thanks to your generous support of the St. Michael’s Senior class, 16,212 lbs. of material was collected for their textile recycling drive, netting them $2,581.00!

*FAMILY GYM DAY CONTINUES—every Sunday from 1-4 pm. However, this is not free day care; parents you are required to be there with your children. All children must be accompanied by an adult and if children are not supervised it may result in gym day being cancelled.

*NO CATECHISM CLASSES—on Sunday, April 12. Classes will resume on Sunday, April 19 at the normal times.

*BAKE SALE—Sunday, April 19th after both morning Masses. Proceeds to benefit the Altar Server Cassock’s.

Please pray for and support Barronelle Stutzman, owner/operator of Arlene’s Flowers in Tri-Cities, who is being sued by the Attorney General of Washington State for politely declining to provide floral arrangements for a homosexual “wedding.” She is truly a woman of character and conviction. Information sheets are available in the vestibule about this case

INTERNET FUNDRAISERS: These two ways don’t cost you a cent! At Goodsearch.com you can sign up to benefit St. Michael’s Academy, earning a penny for each search you make. Just make sure you’re logged in to your Goodsearch account and have designated “St. Michael’s Academy, Spokane, WA” as the non-profit you wish to support. At Amazon Smile you can benefit Mt. St. Michael (through “Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen”), just be sure to shop at www.smile.amazon.com.

ST. MICHAEL'S UNIFORM SHOP will be open on Mondays from 9-12 or by appointment. Please call Joanna Gilchrist at 828-2050.

HOLY ROSARY CEMETERY – Remember that our cemetery is a sacred place, and was solemnly consecrated by the Bishop (in 1993). Only those who are practicing traditional Catholics are permitted to be buried in the section that was consecrated. When visiting the cemetery, always conduct yourself in a reverent and prayerful spirit.

WARNING – For the sake of safety and security, some outlying areas of the Mount have been designated “No Trespassing” zones. Trespassers will be prosecuted.

SUNDAY SERMONS AVAILABLE ON CD – Would you like an audio copy of a recent sermon? Order forms are available in the vestibule.

SOME THOUGHTS ON VIDEO GAMES AND COMPUTERS (from Love & Logic)- Over the past two decades, video and computer games have become dramatically more fast-paced, realistic, and stimulating. Not long after their introduction, I began to suspect that these games had the same addictive potential as drugs, alcohol, and gambling. Today, family therapists and researchers have confirmed my fears. Listed below are some tips for helping your child avoid getting hooked:

• Don’t allow your children to have a computer in their room.
• Allow them to play these games no longer than thirty minutes per day.
• If your child becomes sneaky, noncompliant, or defiant about this time limit, remove this privilege.
• Children birth to six should spend no time playing these games, watching videos, or viewing television.

So-called “educational” games, videos, and shows are no substitute for real-life learning activities, involving movement, problem-solving, and human relationships.

Church Decorum

Please see the Dress Code for attendance at Mass at Mount St. Michael.

Our decorum at Holy Mass can give greater honor and glory to Almighty God, give good example and edification to others, and increase our faith and devotion to the Real Presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The following are practical examples of the rule of decorum we should observe in church:

• Always dress in a manner appropriate to divine worship.
• Be on time for the start of Mass.
• Upon entering the church, bless yourself with holy water (using the right hand). Genuflect on the right knee in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
• Avoid using the center aisle, especially if Mass has begun. Use the side aisle and fill toward the center.
• The last three pews in the church should be reserved for families with small children and those who may have to leave the church during Mass. Baby toys, food items, gum, and strollers are always inappropriate in church.
• During Communion, please keep the line moving in a pious and orderly manner. Promote piety and prayerful contemplation by folding the hands in a pious manner.
• At the end of Mass, allow the celebrant to leave the altar before exiting the church. Make sure to genuflect to the Blessed Sacrament when leaving.
